Since 1988, John Perkins, SPHR, has provided consulting services in all aspects of human resource (HR) management and employment law compliance to businesses in various industries and multiple states.

Through his firm, HRHelp, Mr. Perkins works with clients to develop cost-effective solutions for actual or potential risks. Specific issues are then managed by creating appropriate policies and procedures to meet the needs of the businesses, while reducing or eliminating compliance violations of employment laws.
One of the key services that Mr. Perkins provides is helping clients identify the risks of compliance violations of state and/or federal employment laws. He assesses and then manages the risks associated with the: AZ Earned Paid Sick Time law; federal and state Civil Rights Acts; Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA); Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA); COBRA & HIPAA; and, other employment laws with which the business must comply.

Services frequently provided to clients include:

  • Creating and implementing HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Managing workplace incidents, such as: sexual and other forms of harassment; discrimination; poor performers; and, disruptive/inappropriate behaviors.
  • Investigating claims of harassment, discrimination, or wrongful treatment.
  • Presenting customized training programs for employees and managers.
  • Responding to Notice of Charge of Discrimination letters from the EEOC.
